2018 Roundup

Date: 6th Feb 2019 Author: Scout Websites

The Group had some excellent news just before Christmas, planning permission was given for our store extension and lean to, the Leaders where busy over the Christmas break levelling the ground in preparation for works to start in early 2018.

2018 was a very successful year for Adventure and there’s been lots of firsts, all sections got in lots of camping, the Beavers camped for 2 nights at Lyons Copse, the Cubs also had their District Camp, we had 10 days in Cornwall for Summer Camp, this was the longest camp we’ve ever had and we’ve never been so far from home, we finished off the year with Adventure Camp at Fernycrofts, again the first time we’ve camped there.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
